Governance

CLEF operates with a joint governance bringing together the Government of Côte d’Ivoire, philanthropic organizations, and the cocoa and chocolate industry. The Steering Committee chaired by the Prime Minister is the decision-making body which provides strategic guidance and approves the budgeted annual workplan.

The Technical Committee provides technical oversight to the ministries’ departments responsible for activity implementation.  The Grant Agent acts as interface between the private partners and the Government, assuming fiduciary responsibility and programmatic supervision as well as communication and resource mobilization.

CLEF activities are implemented by sector ministries and implementing partners, supported by a Project Management Unit. The Ministry of National Education and Literacy and the Ministry of Family, Woman and Child are the main government partners for CLEF.
